Treasurer/Collector
The Acton Water District seeks qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer/Collector. The Treasurer/Collector is the chief financial officer of the District, appointed by the Board of Water Commissioners. Responsible for the financial management, collections, investments and administration of all District funds, debt management, administration of payroll, including benefits management and related personnel requirements. The position will also function as a key part of the District’s management team under the daily direction of the District Manager.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in financial management, accounting, business administration, or related field and a minimum of five years of financial and supervisory management experience, preferably in municipal government; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have the ability to be bonded and to obtain certification as a Massachusetts Municipal Treasurer within 4 years.
We offer an excellent benefit package and anticipate a starting salary of $110,000 - $120,000, which will be dependent on qualifications.

Water Systems Laborer
The Acton Water District is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills to be part of our team. Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the Laborer will assist in the maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the District, distribution/storage system, four water treatment plants, and multiple pumping stations. This is a full-time position, requiring some overtime and emergency response. Excellent benefits and hourly rate (starting at $24) will be dependent on qualifications. Water Treatment Operator
The Acton Water District is seeking an organized, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills to be part of our team. Under the general supervision of the Foreman, the Operator will assist in the operation of the distribution/storage system, four water treatment plants, and multiple pumping stations. The position requires a minimum of a D2 and T2 water operator licenses with preference given to candidates with a T3 water treatment operator license. Backflow testing and level 2A hoisting licenses desirable. This is a full-time position, requiring some overtime and emergency response, with the expectation to go on scheduled rotating call after a probationary period. Volunteer Position:
District Clerk:
The position of District Clerk has recently opened due to the incumbent moving out of Acton. The Board of Water Commissioners is looking to appoint an inhabitant of Acton to fulfill the current term and ideally run for the three-year term in the 2026 Annual Town election. This position is responsible for certifying District documents, coordinating the warrant and voter registration for Annual and Special District meetings, as well as swearing in District officials. The position currently has a stipend of $600 per year.
